Ms. Ying Ying is a senior partner of Tahota (Shanghai) Law Firm, specializing in intellectual property, data privacy and unfair competition. Ms. Ying received her Juris Doctor degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Ms. Ying’s working languages are Chinese and English.
Ms. Ying used to work at Watson & Band, Rouse (in association with Lusheng Lawyers), Clyde & Co, King & Wood Mallesons, Zhong Lun and Boss & Young Law Offices.
Ms. Ying’s practice includes handling contentious and non-contentious IP matters in the areas of trademark, copyright, unfair competition and IPR customs protection. Ms. Ying provides legal services including advising on IP protection strategies, arranging IP infringement investigations, handling cases of trademark infringement, copyright infringement and unfair competition disputes, dealing with trademark applications, assignments, licensing, renewals and amendments, filing and responding to opposition, invalidation and cancellation proceedings, copyright registrations, and IP rights customs recordation.
Ms. Ying has represented both domestic and multi-national companies in numerous IP prosecution matters. Meanwhile, Ms. Ying handled IP litigation cases including administrative litigations involving trademark right authorization, administrative litigations dealing with bad faith filings, trademark infringement lawsuits with high compensation granted, trademark infringement lawsuits where the trademark was affirmed as well-known, trademark infringement lawsuits where an identical trade name co-existed, lawsuits confirming non-infringement of IPR, IPR license agreement dispute, IPR infringement lawsuits in which the ICP filing information was inconsistent with the actual operating entity, copyright infringement cases, patent infringement cases, trade secret infringement cases, Internet competition disputes and unfair competition cases. In addition, Ms. Ying assists clients in drafting and negotiating IP transaction contracts and provides legal services to companies in the areas of network security and data compliance.
Ms. Ying represented Beijing Han Yi Innovation Technology Co., Ltd. in a dispute over copyright infringement and unfair competition with Beijing ZiMeng Technology Co., Ltd., which was selected as one of the “2021 Outstanding cases of judicial protection of IP” by Beijing High Court. Ms. Ying represented Beijing Century Baiqiang Furniture Co., Ltd.
in the case of infringement of trademark right and unfair competition dispute with Shanghai Langju Industry Co., Ltd., Shanghai Bangying Investment Management Co., Ltd., Germany Baiqiang International Holding Group Co., Ltd. and Mr. Ma, which was selected as a “2022 Typical Case of strengthening intellectual property protection” by Shanghai High Court.
